Everyone has been waiting for this. Now you can jailbreak your 2.1 firmware without SSH and all that bull crap.

Supports 2.1 firmware with the unlocking and jailbreaking of iPhone 1st generation (2G) device. Supports the jailbreaking of iPod Touch 1st generation device and iPhone 3G. Does not support the unlocking of iPhone 3G or jailbreaking of second generation (n72ap based) iPod Touch.

LOL. Literally 2 minutes after I finished the superb guide to jailbreaking using Total Commander etc.!

so does doing it this way give you the EXACT same outcome as doing it using totalcommander?

Very nice!! But after multiple tries with different apps I now can not see cydia or installer. I can see that they are on the phone through Total Commander, but have no access to the on the springboard. any suggestions, I had tried the previous jailbreak and it would pretty much just kill the springboard entirely if I messed with the system files, following the instructions in the "Guide - Jailbreak iPhone 2.1"

Used the guide above, worked like a champ, but I think something in my previous attempt messed up cydia on the springboard. I now see Installer after a hard reset, but still can not see cydia or any jailbreak apps.

if you updated to 2.1 then you lost your jailbreak apps, if you still dont see cydia restart by restoring orgional 2.1 again

I figured I would lose those, I had downloaded the app backup in Cydia, but until I can get to Cydia to reload it I won't know if that actually worked. I'll try restoring it again, through iTunes? and let you know what happens.

Worked like a charm, so far, got Cydia back and have Installer, now I just have to see if I can restore all my old apps in one shot. Thanks, awesome job. I was a little stressed last night after working on it for hours with no luck.
