Whats different about this tool? And why should you use this rather then any other jailbreaking tool on the market ? This tool will preserve your modem firmware. The new winpwn takes the origional 2.0.2 firmware from apple and builds a new modded firmware which then can be restored via itunes. This firmware will update you to 2.0.2 firmware without updating the baseband on your phone. This means if you are holding out for a future unlock and still running the origional 1.45 modem baseband from the 2.0.0 firmware, you can now go to 2.0.2 and still be on 1.45 modem baseband.

 D - I run 2.02 (5C1) and the modem firmware is 02.08.01 I wish to unlock my iPhone in the future. Can I use winpwn 2.5 under the circumstances or do I need to somehow downgrade my modem firmware and/or OS to 2.0 with the stated required 1.4 modem software to assure future unlock capability? I want tether. | ||
| Mario Dabek - if you are on 2.08.01 then you wont be able to unlock if dev releases a hack because you cant downgrade modem firmware,unless i missed something. | ||
